Saturday 19th October, 17:00

Le Central Poissonnière, 17 Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 75009 Paris, France
Anna Colin is an independent curator, researcher, and gardener. She runs MFA Curating and co-directs the Centre for Art and Ecology, Goldsmiths, London. Between 2013 and 2021 she co-founded and directed Open School East, an independent art school and community space in London. She was associate curator at Lafayette Anticipations, Paris (2014-2020), associate director of Bétonsalon, Paris (2011-2012), and curator at Gasworks, London (2007-2010). Eve Gabriel Chabanon (1989- ) is an artist living in Brussels. Their practice combines performance, writing, and object-making. In 2016, Eve Gabriel joined the Open School East program as an associate artist and met Anna. The conversation will revisit the history and creation of Open School East, and how utopia and the construction of an alternative educational ‘space’ meets a sometimes more restrictive reality. Or to quote Colin: ‘How long can alternatives last?’
